THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF OUR LEAGUE RULES AS OF JUNE 7, 2016. THESE RULES ARE CROSSREFERENCED WITH OUR LEAGUE RULES SUMMARY ON OUR FANTRAX PAGE
League Administrators
• Commissioner: Matt Bodenschatz (Zerstorers) (League Creator)

Roster Information
End-of-Season Protections:
• 10 Veterans: 1 center, 1 left wing, 1 right wing, 2 defense, 1 goalie, 4 utility.
• Up to 5 Rookies - Any skater who has played in 120 or fewer NHL games, or any goalie who has played in 60 or fewer NHL games.
Teams may protect no more than two goalies (either 1 veteran and 1 rookie or 2 veterans)
Trades, Draft Pick Trading, Adds/Drops
• All trades must be accompanied by a post on the message board with an explanation as to why each team made the trade Both managers involved must comment for the trade to be approved.
• All league managers are encouraged to weigh in with their opinions of the trade.
• If any trade is deemed to be against the spirit and competitive balance of the league, it can be vetoed with the authority of two commissioners.
• Managers may trade draft picks for the upcoming draft only.
• Managers are permitted to add any NHL-eligible player, including those not yet in the NHL and those playing in Europe.
• Managers are not permitted to add any NHL ineligible player, such as a player who has not yet been drafted.
• After the conclusion of the fantasy season (i.e. after the league championship ends) and prior to the upcoming draft, any player a manager adds via free agency may NOT be included as part of any trade. This is to prevent teams from "buying up" players on free agency for the sole purpose of trading them for draft picks
League Fees & Prizes
There is a $30 yearly fee per team to cover the cost of winnings. Our Fantrax lifetime membership has been paid for and is no longer a league expense. Fees must be paid to Matt Bodenschatz prior to the start of each season.

• No refunds will be issued at any time
Prize Distribution:
• UPJFHL Champion: $150
• Playoff runner-up: $60
• Playoff third place: $30
• Playoff fourth place: $30
• Regular season champion: $60
• Other division winner: $30
• Manager of the year: $30
• Best offense: $30
• Best defense: $30
• Best goaltending: $30
Participation Expectations
All managers are expected to maintain a minimal level of activity, which includes, but is not limited to:
• Maintaining rosters (daily lineups, IR, adds/drops, trades, etc)
• Participating in league votes
• Submitting keepers by assigned deadline
• Making draft selections within the 24-hour timeframe
• Paying league dues on time
Punishments
• Streaming (from roster to free agency or from minors to roster)
o Streaming is defined as activity that extends a team's roster by using a series of short-term transactions to maximize stats for a given day. All transactions should be made with the long-term in mind. No transaction should be made to gain a one- or two-day advantage.
o All instances will include a roster audit and stat reset to account for streaming
o First offense = loss of 1st round pick (or next highest available pick)
o Second offense = dismissal from league
• Collusion (between two or more managers)
o Collusion is defined as the partnership between two managers to make one team stronger.
o All instances will include a roster audit and stat reset to account for streaming
o First offense = loss of 1st round pick (or next highest available pick) for both teams involved
o Second offense = dismissal from league
• Inactivity
o 1 week of inactivity (first offense) = loss of 5th round pick (or next highest available pick)
o 1 week of inactivity (second offense) = loss of 1st round pick (or next highest available pick)
o 1 week of inactivity (third offense) = dismissal from league
• Claiming an ineligible player (any player ineligible for NHL due to age)
o First offense = player dropped and loss of 5th round pick (or next highest available pick)
o Second offense = player dropped and loss of 1st round pick (or next highest available pick)
o Third offense = dismissal from league
• Ineligible draft pick (any player ineligible for NHL due to age)
o First offense = player dropped and team loses current round pick
o Second offense = player dropped and team loses current round pick and next available pick
o Third offense = dismissal from league
• Missed draft pick
o First offense = loss of missed pick
o Second offense = loss of missed pick and next available pick
o Third offense = dismissal from league
• Missed deadline (protection submission list, mandatory vote, etc.)
o First offense = player dropped and loss of 5th round pick (or next highest available pick)
o Second offense = player dropped and loss of 1st round pick (or next highest available pick)

Rule & Policy Development/Voting
In order to provide a fair and balanced administration of the UPJFHL, all rule/policy changes and additions will be put to vote before being made official. All managers are encouraged offer rule suggestions.
• Proposal
o Process: post a message on the FanTrax message board and/or email one of the league administrators
o Review: League admins will review each rule proposal and will put to vote any/all ideas that are reasonable
• Voting
o Each rule proposal will be put to vote continuing through the end of the season (or until all issues have been voted on).
o Rule changes must receive a majority (9 votes) to be put into effect
